Minimum Downtime

NeoStrata® ProSystem superficial peels, often referred to as ‘lunchtime peels’, are brief in-clinic procedures that are performed under the supervision of a professional skin therapist. Often there is no noticeable healing or recovery time and skin looks and feels normal within a few hours to a day. For some patients, the healing/recovery can take a few days longer.

What to expect from a Chemical Peel

All skin types can be treated. Don’t worry if your skin is ‘sensitive’. Mild peels are great for sensitive skin and can help improve them greatly.

You will need to prep your skin using glycolic acid (AHA)  based home care products 14 days before your first peel. These are included within the peel price. This is so your skin gets used to having AHA’s on it.

The simple answer is yes. But not for long. Even within 30 minutes the redness from the treatment should subside considerably. This will increase throughout the day or evening. The following morning you may still be a little pinky but not that noticeably, if at all. You skin may feel a little tight the following morning.

You may experience some slight peeling or a feeling of roughness on the skin. This is not an indication of how good the peel has been. Some don’t experience any. You must not pick or scratch the area. Instead gently exfoliate and moisturise.

Most definitely. You can get amazing results by using Micro Dermabrasion either directly before a peel or alternating treatments. This will be discussed with your skin therapist.

Skin peels are very effective in helping reduce acne and congestion within the skin. We have special peels that can be layered onto of a glycolic peel that will enhance results.

Yes. Twinned with a course of Micro Dermabrasion as well as peel can produce very good results with minimum of risk.

TCA peels or deep peels that you hear horror stories of or peels that require you to stay in for 2 weeks to recover can carry risk with them and cost a lot more. Glycolic acid peels are superficial peels that research has suggested can be just as effected when taken with a course with much less risk.

What happens on the day?

It’s all VERY simple.

The hole process will take about 30 minutes.

  1. We fill some paper work out.
  2. Cleanse your skin.
  3. Apply the chosen skin peeling product.
  4. Wait 5 minutes
  5. Neutralise the glycolic peel
  6. Apply moisturiser and SPF

And that is it, no hassle or fuss. Just great results.
